Evan's first exposure to flyball was in 1995, taking lessons with The Away Team. Evan (and Thunder) joined The Away Team, then became a founding member of The Time Bandits Flyball Club. Other dog-related activities include participation in Jack Russell Trials and (a little bit of) Agility training.
Evan earned his M.A.Sc. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1985 (sorry, no Ph.D), and started writing commercial software for the (then brand-new) Apple Macintosh. He founded Rainmaker Research Inc. in 1984, developers of both Macintosh and Windows software. Rainmaker's main product is a writing tool published by Casady & Greene, Inc. called Spell Catcher, and if you don't own a copy, well, you should click here and buy one.
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Evan competed in Freestyle Skiing for many years, but has since taken up the "tamer" sport of snowboarding. Occasionally, Thunder gets to ride up the chairlift at Alpine Ski Club and chase Evan down the hill a few times.
