About the Blew Bayou Flyball Team

About Our Team

The Blew Bayou Flyball Team is based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The team was founded in November of 2000 with two members, three dogs and a homemade flyball box. By the summer of 2001, we had grown to 12 members, bought a tournament-quality flyball box and began getting ready for competition. In November of 2001 after a full year of fun and hard work, Blew Bayou debuted its first tournament racing team at the Hairier Jumps Jets "Turkey Trot" in Franklin, VA. All of the dogs on our lineup earned points and four of them earned their Flyball Dog (FD) titles! Since then the team has gone on to compete at many more tournaments and we are still having a great time doing flyball together.

Currently most of our dogs hold Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh) titles. Several are Flyball Masters and three hold Flyball Master Excellent (FMX) titles. Click here to view the points on our current lineup.

Our team's fastest official time to date is 19.81 seconds, set on January 11, 2004 in Raleigh, NC. Our fastest dog is currently "Cookie", a 2 year old Border Collie whose record time is 3.8 seconds.

Many of our members are also involved in other dogsports and activities in addition to flyball, including agility, dog tricks, frisbee, tracking and S&R (search and rescue). The Blew Bayou Flyball Team is available to perform flyball, frisbee, agility and dog tricks demos at local dog festivals, adoption fairs and sporting events.
