Meet Callie, or Callie-Monster to those who know her well. She was a "free to a good home" outside of PetCo one Friday evening. She was destined for the pound that night if she didn't find someone to take her. I happened to come by the store minutes before her finders were to leave for the pound. The person who found Callie thought she might be part collie, but I had her figured for a sheltie. Given that she was about 10-12 weeks old at that time, I didn't stand a chance against that cute little puppy face. Callie was adopted on the spot and came home from PetCo to a very suprised Dad and and other canine siblings.

Callie started flyball training once she was a year old since she had a lot of energy that I didn't quite know what to do with. She liked flyball a lot since it involved her favorite toy, that magical mesmerizing yellow orb, or the tennis ball. Before we knew it Callie and I were running in our first flyball tournament! She has since started agility training and is now competing in agility trials as well.

Besides the tennis ball, Callie's favorite toys are her siblings Milo, Hawkeye, Duncan and Ivy, squeaky toys, floppy frisbees, and tug toys. She really loves Groovy Dog cookies and rawhide chips, especially if she can steal them from her siblings. Her favorite passtimes are agility, chasing squirrels, barking at falling leaves and unknown people, herding her siblings after "potty outside", being a spoiled princess, and of course, running flyball.

As for her resemblance to Lassie, Callie hates to be thought of as a diminuitive version of the famous television collie. In her words, "That Lassie was lucky to have a stupid kid like Timmy to keep falling in wells for her. All those rescues were not heroic, they were just because that kid was such an idiot. Lucky for Lassie that kid was so dumb, or she would have never got that TV show. Don't ever call me Little Lassie, that's one girl who never had to struggle on the streets, much less have an independent thought. And they call me a be-yotch! Oh, and did you know Lassie is actually a DUDE?"
