| Dylan was born in July of 2005 to Leilani Dobermans outside of Dallas. He comes from a long line of dogs that compete in obedience, agility, conformation, and even worked as certified therapy dogs. Many dogs in his bloodlines have been accepted into the DPCA Longevity Program, dedicated to recognizing and rewarding people attempting to increase the lifespan of this magnificent dog through intelligent breeding. Dylan moved from his breeding kennel to Austin and was immediately immersed in a flyball environment at the tender age of 4 months old. Dylan played lots of tug and chase games, but it wasn't until he was over a year old before it was decided that he would also become a racer like his pack mate Brody . As a play on his given call name and his coat color, he was registered under the name "Tangled Up in Red". At 28 inches in height at the withers and weighing just 80lbs, Dylan is very athletic and agile for a large dog. His ears were never cropped because he was originally scheduled to be sent to live with an owner in Australia. He's left with a very puppyish look which helps him to not scare people that live in his neighborhood - as much. Even though just an adolescent himself, Dylan is already showing signs of being a dedicated and loving caretaker to the new human toddler in his household. True to his lineage, he has a great desire to work and please his owners. Dylan participated in his first flyball tournament in March of 2007. He was going in 10 different directions, but managed to impress everyone by getting his FD title in less than 6 full months since he began official training. Dylan's dream is to follow in the footsteps of his favorite Doberman flyball idol, Onyx. |
