FM Ketch started life on a farm in Tennessee. His breeders were not very responsible and didn’t dock his tail or remove his dewclaws. His first owner was a young man who thought for some reason that Ketch didn’t like him, so he brought him back. He next charmed a lady who went to look at a BC, but came home with a JRT! After a few months both her children became ill and she was unable to devote the time to him he deserved so he was put up for adoption again. I tried to adopt him at that point but he had been promised to someone else. I told her to let me know if the other person decided not to take him-fat chance of that considering how cute he is!!! As fate would have it, his third owner was unable to take care of him also, so his second owner asked for him back so she could place him again. About 6 months after I had first seen him, I got a call from the second owner asking if I was still looking to adopt another JRT. How surprised I was to get the call, but thrilled. I went that very day to pick him up, and he’s been an integral part of our lives ever since. First thing in the morning or when you come home from a trip out, he grabs his toy in his mouth and “trumpets” like an elephant to let you know he’s ready to play. With a best time of 5.58 seconds, he’s not the fastest dog on the team by any means, but he lives for flyball!!! |
