Beau joined us at the end of the year 2000, after beginning his flyball career with Smokin Paws.  Like his housemate Reebok, he quickly proved to be a valuable addition to our team.

Beau was really crazy about the game, and just loved to race.  He ran hard and happily every time he was aimed down the course.  We quickly found that we could count on him to give us everything he had, for as long as we asked him to give it.

Beau ran in any spot in the lineup, but he excelled as a start or anchor dog.  He ran his fastest time with us, a 4.34 seconds run, on 01-21-01.

Beau ran a perfect day on September 8, 2001 to gain the final points needed to complete his ONYX title requirements.

Coming up limping after a slip at the box, Beau was pulled from the lineup in his final tourney on 05-04-02.  His limping did not go away after the tourney, and a vet checkup was scheduled.  During that checkup, it was found that Beau had shattered a femur head.  Further checks showed that he had contracted bone cancer, weakening his bones.

Surgery got Beau up and walking smoothly again, but his flyball career had ended.  He later lost his battle with the cancer, and passed over the rainbow bridge - to continue playing the game that he so loved playing.

We miss him dearly, but are glad that we had the chance to know him.

It is hard to believe, but this cute ball of fur became

... this flyball fanatic.
