Rex began training in flyball after his littermate, Elsa, injured her ACL in 1994.  While never quite as intense a competitor as she was, Rex did run the course with joy.  He never ran the course in faster than the mid 6 seconds range, but would always run it completely, and happily.

As he got older, Rex slowed down considerably.  He soon ran mainly in demos (where he was a real hit with the kids in attendance).  Age continued to take its toll on him, and Rex was retired in mid-2000.

Rex also competed in Retriever Hunting Tests, and  trained in obedience.  He was very good with children, and  did therapy work with them (in addition to being one of their favorite attractions at flyball demos).

Rex is no longer with us, but his memory will keep us going for a long, long, time.
