| Welcome Letter for Shamrock Showdown III
We don’t want to take up too much time at the Captain’s meeting covering all the
events going on at Shamrock Showdown this weekend, so we’re including a lot of
“need to know” information in this Welcome Letter instead. Captains, please
forward this Welcome Letter to your team members. Thank you!
Line and Box Judging:
First, thank you to everyone who will be helping with line and box judging! We couldn’t put on a tournament without you!
Line judges will be writing the times on the racing sheets.
If you will be unable to fill a seat during your assigned judging slot, please let someone from Top Dog Racers know so that we can find someone to take your place.
Tickets for the Judge’s Raffle are included in your Welcome Folder.
Racing:
This will be a one ring tournament.
Racing will begin each day at 7:30am. Saturday racing will conclude at the end of race #89.
We will have 2 minute warm-ups for every team’s first race on Saturday and
1-1/2 minute warm-ups for every team’s first race on Sunday. After each team’s first race, warm-ups will be 1 minute. Warm-ups will begin when the previous race’s boxes are up. Do NOT wait for the judge to start the warm-up.
Boxloaders – If you will need help moving your box, please make arrangements before the race. Please be courteous to the incoming team and be prepared to move your box as soon as your race is finished.
Per NAFA rules, the baseboards on the jumps are 6”.
Judges will be Lawrence Cox and John Fairbairn.
Please note that there will be a Captain’s and “Judge’s” meeting at 7:15am Saturday morning.
If you discover a problem with scoring, or any mistake in how the racing results were entered and posted, please find Karen Erz or Elizabeth Currin.
DO NOT ask the table to help you with a problem or question. Thank you.
Lunch:
There will be No Lunch breaks.
A food vendor (Sioux Sun Fry Bread) will be on site both days. Menu items include hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches (on fresh baked bread), funnel cakes, and breakfast items at reasonable prices. We have asked that they have vegetarian selections as well.
