Flyball Titles ~ FD - Flyball Dog ~ FDX - Flyball Dog Excellent ~ FDCH - Flyball Dog
Champion ~ Ruff Riders were formed in the summer of 1991 as Saskatchewan's first NAFA Flyball Team. The team first raced in October of 1991. We started with 5 dogs and 3 handlers. The dogs were Tuff, Night, Kish, Rocky & Day. After months of practicing outside with the mosquitoes, we were finally ready for our first tournament. With our one team off we went, loaded in a pickup truck. After "borrowing" a handler and a box loader, we came away from the tournament having had the greatest of fun, and with Flyball Dog titles on 4 of the dogs and an addiction to Flyball that hasnt eased even after all these years. The Ruff Riders have seen many changes over the years. In 1994 the we lost one of our cornerstones when Rocky passed away. In 1997 Kish was also lost to us. Tuff was helped to the Rainbow Bridge in July of 2000. They are now cheering from the Rainbow Bridge. In November 1993, the team split to form Saskatchewan's second team; Prairie PDQ Dogsports. In the last few year we have added more dogs to become 3 teams. Many of our teams consist of multi-breed 99% of the time. . Ruff Riders also race Scent Hurdle and were Saskatchewan Provincial Champions for '95, '96 & '97 until Scent Hurdle racing lost the edge in this province. The dogs include Brooke, Carly, Day, Kish, Flirt & Imme.
