9920-03.jpg (26186 bytes)(Bio by Fran Boughter): Aengus is from a working farm in southwestern Iowa and named him after a Scottish warrior. We were told and given papers that he was a border collie but after he started to grow we could tell different. We love him just the same and he is a great addition to our family.

Aengus started Flyball in 2000 and was trained and run by me the first year. He was quick to learn and loves to run against other dogs. After the first year my son Daniel then age 13 became interested in the sport and decided to take it on! (another flyball junkie)

Daniel did have some requirements before he could start however. He was required to take at least 3 obedience classes with him before he could run him. He fulfilled the requirements and in fact still does obedience with him in Novice class!1807_139.jpg (13473 bytes)

Aengus has earned his FM title and is working on his FMX.  His spare time he enjoys playing frisbee and swimming. He pretty much loves to play with any other toy he can get his hands on too!

In his relaxed time he loves to snuggle next to you while napping. He will turn 6 in December and shows no sign of slowing down.

Bryna came to me from Border collie rescue out of Kansas in Feb of 1997. Her fostered name was Sonic. Her story has a bit of a rough start but a great ending! We changed her name to reflect her personality; in Gaelic Bryna means strong, and as you read you will understand. She was picked up by Border Collie Rescue at a shelter in Lawrence, Kansas. A neighbor of her previous owners called the shelter to report concerns for their new puppy (Bryna) evidently the dog they had before was abused and lost his battle from having bricks thrown at him. When the neighbor noticed they brought home a new puppy, they called the shelter.

The shelter came out to inspect and found the home not suitable and took her, leaving them a notice. They never came to claim her.

She was under foster care for about three weeks until I came along and immediately fell in love. She1808_453.jpg (11366 bytes) was 7 months old and full of spirit although very shy (especially around men) it was when she was about 1-1 1/2 years old when we noticed some health problems with her. After 3 days of testing it was confirmed she had diabetes insipitus. This is rare in canines but more wide spread in humans no actual cause is known but is seems to be more prevalent from people who have suffered blows to the head.

This made my heart drop knowing what her past was and to this day makes me wonder if those previous owners are to blame. She takes desmopression once a day in her eye to control it and will and is living a very healthy and happy normal life now.

I became involved with Go Dogs! Flyball in late 1998 with Bryna and have since earned her FMX and getting close to her FMCH! We head up the club's classes and fulfill the relationships between the club and our team. Flyball and all the team members have really helped Bryna come out of her shell and you would never know by seeing her run that she ever had any problems. We also do obedience (almost ready for the ring) and she has earned her CGC. She will be 7 in Sept and is still going strong!

1807_461.jpg (12303 bytes)In her spare time she loves to play with her tennis balls (of course) and also enjoys swimming. She loves to dock dive and I think she would be a stiff competition for any lab! :-) In her layed-back time, she loves to lounge in her favorite spot in front of our barn.
