Kachina grew up on 20 acres in the Texas hill country preparing for a career in the sheltie breed ring.  When it became obvious that her ears just were NOT going to tip correctly, Kachina’s breeder began looking for a performance home.  Luckily for me, I had just begun to look for a sheltie to play flyball with.

At first, Kachina did not seem like the ideal flyball candidate.  Although she could run fast, loved to jump, and would pick things up in her mouth, Kachina knew nothing about catching anything in the air, including food!  But she learned fast.  I adopted her in August of 2001, and she ran in her first flyball tournament in June of 2002.  And now, she’s not just a pretty face (with prick ears).   She’s a flyball dog!!!
